The Verge: Sony announces the world’s first QD-OLED 4K TV, coming later this year

Welcome back to team quantum dot, Sony! 9 years after launching the world's first Quantum Dot TV (2013) Sony is back with another QD first with the first QD-OLED TV product. We've seen the raw panel and it exceeds expectations: by far brightest OLED we've ever measured, widest chromaticity gamut for a consumer display of any type that we've ever measured at >90% BT.2020, pure RGB color volume all the way up to ~1500 nits, amazing off-axis performance and, oh yeah, perfect blacks!
