Nanosys Live from Samsung's 2016 SUHD Quantum Dot TV Launch Event

Samsung just launched their 2016 SUHD TV lineup in the US and Nanosys was on hand to tell the story behind the Quantum Dot technology that makes these sets so bright, colorful and power efficient.

The event was held in the heart of NYC at the company's hip new Samsung 837 showroom and event space which provided a great backdrop for the sharply designed SUHD TVs. The big news: starting today, consumers pick up a new SUHD starting at $1500 for a 43”. Samsung also took the opportunity to debut a stunning new flagship model, dubbed the 9800 series, which will be available starting this summer in sizes from 65” up to 88”. All 9800 models will feature Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) for improved local contrast and a 20% boost in peak luminance to 1,200 nits.

We were honored to be invited by our partner Samsung to play a big part in the announcement. Nanosys CEO Jason Hartlove jumped up on stage with the Samsung TV QA team during the technical keynote for a 10 minute clinic on Quantum Dots and the team had a blast fielding questions form the 100 or so assembled tech press in the hands on area. All in all a really exciting day for Nanosys and Quantum Dot technology!
